Roy was born in Netherton, Dudley on July 28th, 1942 and passed away on March 18th 2024. A truly genuine and honest person, he was able to connect with anyone, no matter their interests, background, or language. Roy has influenced so many people locally and across the world, and he will be missed by everyone he touched.  

Roy had many interests, but his greatest passion was archery, where he became one of the all-time greats of the sport. He represented Great Britain at the highest level for over 20 years and received countless World, European, and National championship medals.

His innate skill to reach across any divide also made him a natural teacher, and the reason why he was so successful as an archery coach as well as an individual performer. He was able to have a profound influence on many archers and was always, without fail, willing to offer help and support. 

Roy will always be remembered and remain a part of our lives. As anyone who knew Roy well would appreciate, he requested no fuss and a simple service. In line with this, the family asks that you make contributions to our memorial fund in lieu of flowers or gifts and contribute by sharing memories on this site.
